Edition 10 of 27. Lithograph on Arches Cover hand-printed by the artist at facilities of the University of Cincinnati, College of DAAP where the artist attended undergraduate school. The concept of this print represents the synthesis of knowledge I had been acquiring up until then. As an Art major, I sought wider diversity of information through some Botany and a Glacial Geology course, among others. This print portrays individuals representing the two major subtly different catagories of Sphagnum mosses, in poses extrapolated from those of Adam and Eve in Albrecht Durer's famous engraving, in the mixed oak/hickory/beech forest of southwest Ohio with some of the characteristic flora on the forest floor. The print is a prayer for the return of the continental ice sheets. |
